Once upon a time, high up in the blue sky, lived a little white cloud named Nimbus. Nimbus was round and fluffy, like a cotton ball. All the big clouds loved their jobs: Papa Cloud made strong rain, and Mama Cloud made soft fog. The other little clouds made gentle drizzles to water the green world below. But Nimbus had a problem. He couldn't drizzle. Every time he tried to squeeze out a single raindrop, nothing happened. He would shake and wobble, but he would stay dry. "My rain button must be stuck!" he sighed, floating sadly. Papa Cloud rumbled gently, "Nonsense, Nimbus! You just need to find your special way." A Trip to the Meadow Nimbus decided to travel down and see the world he was supposed to be watering. He floated low over a beautiful green meadow. He saw bright red and yellow flowers, and happy, tall green grass. But then he saw one tiny little daisy. It was droopy, and its white petals were folded up. It looked very, very thirsty. Just a few drops would make me happy." Nimbus looked at the sad little daisy. He didn't think about making strong rain like Papa Cloud. He didn't think about being clever or brave. He just felt a warm, bubbly feeling inside his fluffy cloud-tummy—a feeling of kindness. He just wanted to help the daisy feel better. The Perfect Drizzle He didn't squeeze, and he didn't strain. He just focused all his kind, warm feeling on the little flower. And then, pitter-pat, pitter-pat! A soft, perfect drizzle began to fall. It was exactly the right size: not a flood, just a gentle sprinkle. The water landed on the daisy's petals and soaked into the ground. The little daisy slowly lifted its head. Its petals spread wide open, looking bright and happy. "Oh, thank you, little cloud!" the daisy sang. "That was the most wonderful drink! You saved me!" Nimbus was thrilled! "I did it!" he cheered. "I made a drizzle!" Papa Cloud drifted down beside him. "You found your special way, Nimbus," he said, smiling. "You didn't need a strong button or a big plan. You just needed to feel care for the little flower." From that day on, Nimbus became the best little helper cloud. He didn't make the biggest rain, but he made the kindest drizzle. He learned that every cloud—big or small—has a special job to do, and his special job was making sure the smallest, thirstiest flowers were always loved and cared for.
