Little Red Riding Hood Little Red Riding Hood lives in a quiet village near a dark forest. One morning her mother gives her a basket of bread and jam for her sick grandmother and warns her to stay on the path and not speak to strangers. In the forest, a polite but hungry wolf asks where she is going. Red, trying to be friendly, answers and even tells him which flowers Grandma likes. The wolf suggests she pick some along the way. While Red gathers flowers, the wolf runs ahead, reaches Grandma’s house, tricks his way inside, and swallows Grandma whole. He puts on her nightcap and lies in bed. When Red finally arrives, she notices that “Grandma’s” ears, eyes, and teeth look wrong. The wolf jumps out of bed and tries to eat her too, but a passing woodcutter hears her cry, rushes in, and cuts the wolf’s belly open. Grandma climbs out, shaken but alive. They fill the wolf with stones; when he wakes and tries to run, he falls and never rises again. Red promises never to wander from the path or trust a charming stranger.
