In a quiet pond lived a frog who loved to boast. His voice was loud, and his words were many. “There is nothing in this pond that I don’t know,” he said proudly every day. One morning, a crane arrived and stood silently by the water. It watched, but said nothing. The frog jumped onto a stone and called out, “Hey, newcomer! Do you even know how deep this pond is?” The crane did not answer. Encouraged, the frog spoke even louder. “I know every patch of mud and every blade of grass here. You who only stand and watch will never understand this pond!” The crane remained quiet. Then, slowly, it lowered its beak into the water, caught a fish, and flew away. The frog was left staring. For the first time, he realized that he had said so much and gained nothing at all.
