He took one final, huge breath and stretched himself as much as he could. “Now am I as big as the ox?” The other frogs stared at him. Before anyone could answer, the Small Frog could not hold his breath any longer. All the air rushed out of his body. He tumbled backward and fell into the pond with a loud splash. The other frogs quickly gathered around him. Luckily, he was not badly hurt. As he sat in the water, he looked at the enormous ox drinking peacefully nearby. For the first time, the Small Frog realized that he did not need to become an ox. The ox had great strength and a huge body. But the frog had something the ox did not. He could leap high into the air. He could swim quickly through the pond. He could hide between tiny leaves and lily pads. He could live happily in places where the enormous ox could never go. The Small Frog smiled. From that day on, he stopped comparing himself with other animals. He learned to appreciate his own strengths. He was small, but being small was not something to be ashamed of. He was a frog, and being a frog was enough. And whenever he saw the enormous ox near the pond, he no longer wished to become like him. He simply smiled and continued jumping happily between the lily pads. The little frog finally understood: You do not need to become someone else to be special. Everyone has their own strengths.
