The Transfiguration: Jesus led Peter, James and John up a solitary peak. The night was deep and the mountain wind was bone-chilling. The three of them were so exhausted that they could hardly keep their eyes open. Jesus stood alone on a rock, looking down at the distant valley. Suddenly, a faint light flickered around him. The light kept intensifying, as if the day were exploding in the night. Jesus' clothes became dazzling white and almost impossible to look at directly. Two ancient figures emerged in the light and conversed with him. The disciples were startled awake and fell to their knees in shock. The light surrounded them like fragmented pieces of the sun. The mountain wind died down, and it seemed as if the world had been muted. The light gradually faded away and the two figures vanished. Jesus returned to his usual self, yet still exuded an indescribable majesty. The three of them looked at each other in disbelief, unable to believe what they had seen.
